For My Mommy's Birthday...

I made this card for my mom's birthday.  She LOVED it!  I love this retired DSP and I have a few scraps left and just keep using them!
The base is Baja Breeze and I used two of the Vanilla Ribbon Roses (retired), the ink is Not Quite Navy.  I popped up the Happy Birthday, Scalloped Oval with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Birthday Card in Brown

I made the background patterned paper for a challenge over at Just a Spark to make your own background paper:)  I used the stamp from Bliss(ret SAB set) and stamped it in Early Espresso ink on the Soft Suede CS.  I layerd this on Early Espresso and put on a card base of Soft Suede.  I added a layer of Early Espresso 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon and then the Happy Birthday sentiment from the retired Well Scripted set.  I punched using the Scalloped oval punch and added to card front with dimensionals:)  I fell in love with the distressed edging in the SU catty and have tried my hand with it...thinkin I likey:)

My Baby turned 9 today!!!

I can hardly believe it was 9 years ago that my Baby Girl came into this world:)  She allowed me to share the decorations we made for her party and the cake I made for her party.

This was the scene as you look into the "jungle room".

Celebrations and Hello Kitty Font
Her birthday banner...we pulled colors from the tablecloth for the banner.

The girls and I stamped the napkins with the Fox and Friends stamp set Stampin' UP!

This....is....THE....Cake!
Yes I'm proud of it....and it tasted DELICIOUS!  I'll have to snap a pic of the inside as it was "Zebra Striped" as well!  The first time EVER I made fondant!  I used Cream Cheese Buttercream icing for the "glue" and to make the "grass".  I know its not the greatest ever cake, but for me it was my best ever!  So bear with me while I brag on it!

Birthday Season is beginning!!!

We're off with a bang for April!  This starts our "Birthday Season" around here!  We have several friends and family members with Birthdays from April-July:)  We have birthdays nearly every month but our "heavy season" is the spring and early summer...ok anyhow...my youngest dd's 9th birthday is this next weekend sooo....I've begun preparations and have cut files made for nearly all the crafts and decorations for the party...here is a peek at the front of her invites...

Elephant from Paperdolls for Everyday, Party hat from Celebrations and Folliage from Zooballoo
Now normally I would've had a photo of the inside or, in this case, what's under the pulltab and just blurred the info...but my battery died on my camera during that shot soooo....I'm sorry but you'll just have to imagine how the inside looks with cute lil lines and all her party info and a date stamp.

For this card I followed this tutorial

I started with a base of Crumb Cake CS and then used a layer of Greenhouse Gala DSP.  I cut the Elephant from Basic Gray CS and the Trees/shrubs are Wild Wasabi and Soft Suede CS.  The ribbon is Pear Pizzaz Seam Binding Ribbon.  All edges inked in Early Espresso ink.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel....

My daughters were invited to a "Tangled" birthday party and wanted a "Rapunzel" card...I found the cut file at http://mardenz.blogspot.com/ for this Rapunzel....

This was my first ever attempt at layering a "character" and I'm pretty pleased though I wish I'd done a better job with placements...I hope she likes it!

The card is made from Whisper White CS and has a layer of Marina Mist CS as the "background".  The base of Rapunzel is Basic Black CS, her dress is Perfect Plum CS with Whisper White accents.  Her skin is cut from retired su cs...her hair is Daffodil Delight and eyes are Not Quite Navy with some white gel pen accents.  Her mouth is Riding Hood Red CS.  All CS is Stampin' UP!  The cut file for Rapunzel can be found at http://mardenz.blogspot.com/.

We used a Small Thermal Tote from Thirty-One as our gift bag.

A Birthday Card...no wait...2 Birthday Cards!

I made a couple of cards today:)  So excited to be able to use my arm and craft again!!! Both of these cards are made using all Stampin' UP! products as well which met a criteria for a challenge over at Pieces Of Paper for this month's crop challenge.

This one is for my neice...her favorite colors are Black and Red:)
I started with a base of Riding Hood Red Cardstock, then I filed the edges to rough them up a bit and inked them with Basic Black ink.  I then added a layer of Love Letter DSP, roughed up the edge of that and inked with Riding Hood Red Ink.  To this layer I added the wide striped Riding Hood Red/Very Vanilla ribbon and hung the Happy Birthday sentiment tag with a pin from the Vintage Trinkets collection...I made this using Very Vanilla Cardstock, Riding Hood Red ink and the sentiment from Plane & Simple stamp set and cut using the Modern Label punch.
And a closeup of the tag:)

The other card I made is for a friend with a recent birthday:)
She's a sweetie and sure hope she likes it!

This card began with a piece of Rose Red Cardstock.  I used the Framed Tulips folder to emboss the border.  I then added a scrap of Springtime Vintage DSP and accented that with Rose Red and Pretty in Pink Topnote die cuts the lighter one I stamped the flourish/damask from the Bliss SAB set in Pretty in Pink ink.  I then added the sentiment from Plane & Simple stamp set in Rose Red ink and punched it out using the Modern Label Punch.  This was attached using the Vintage Trinket collection button-brads.  I then added the butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.  I sanded the raised areas and inked with Rose Red ink.  I added a pin from the Vintage Trinket Collection for fun:)

Sweet Birthday Celebration

Good evening crafty friends...I made this card for my sweet sister's birthday:)  Her favorite is Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Icing....She lives out in AZ and I can't be there for her Birthday but I'm sending this in hopes she's still have a Sweet Celebration:)

Over at Jitterbuggin they have an All Browns Challenge....so I'm entering this card over there and at Fantabulous Cricut they are having a "Sweet" Challenge so I'll enter it there too:)

I'm a bit disappointed that the camera made the sparkly spray look like blotches tho in person it is super sparkly!!!!  I started with Sahara Sand CS and added Early Espresso and Soft Suede.  The cake is from Celebrations and has been embosed with a swirly embossing folder.  I added the Basic Pearl Jewels from SU to accent the cake and the banner.  The ribbon is Kraft(retired) SU.  The Sahara Sand background behind the cake was embossed using Vintage Wallpaper SU Embossing folder.
I added the Smooch Spritz to that layer as well.
Each layer was given a border using the Scalloped Border Punch(SU)

Closeups:
sorry they are blotchy looking...those are really very sparkly!

sentiment from Sweet Scoops SU stamp set.
