A Birthday Card...no wait...2 Birthday Cards!

I made a couple of cards today:)  So excited to be able to use my arm and craft again!!! Both of these cards are made using all Stampin' UP! products as well which met a criteria for a challenge over at Pieces Of Paper for this month's crop challenge.

This one is for my neice...her favorite colors are Black and Red:)
I started with a base of Riding Hood Red Cardstock, then I filed the edges to rough them up a bit and inked them with Basic Black ink.  I then added a layer of Love Letter DSP, roughed up the edge of that and inked with Riding Hood Red Ink.  To this layer I added the wide striped Riding Hood Red/Very Vanilla ribbon and hung the Happy Birthday sentiment tag with a pin from the Vintage Trinkets collection...I made this using Very Vanilla Cardstock, Riding Hood Red ink and the sentiment from Plane & Simple stamp set and cut using the Modern Label punch.
And a closeup of the tag:)

The other card I made is for a friend with a recent birthday:)
She's a sweetie and sure hope she likes it!

This card began with a piece of Rose Red Cardstock.  I used the Framed Tulips folder to emboss the border.  I then added a scrap of Springtime Vintage DSP and accented that with Rose Red and Pretty in Pink Topnote die cuts the lighter one I stamped the flourish/damask from the Bliss SAB set in Pretty in Pink ink.  I then added the sentiment from Plane & Simple stamp set in Rose Red ink and punched it out using the Modern Label Punch.  This was attached using the Vintage Trinket collection button-brads.  I then added the butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and embossed it with the Vintage Wallpaper folder.  I sanded the raised areas and inked with Rose Red ink.  I added a pin from the Vintage Trinket Collection for fun:)

And again a closeup:
